Sea and environment in Masainas

Where: masainas
(arcipelago del Sulcis, sud-ovest, Sardegna)
Genre: culture   nature   fun

The flight over Salinas beach reveals and promises a pristine marine environment. Located to the south-west of the island of Sardinia, the beach is wide and slopes gently into the seabed, showing the shades of blue and green of the sea waters. The dune behind it is inhabited by junipers and Aleppo pines, their color is so vivid that it seems to smell, intensely. As the flight rises, the pond of Baiocca is identified, an important resting place for herons, pink flamingos, shag and for the rare marsh harriers. Going even higher, the view opens onto the Gulf of Palmas, another unmissable seaside destination. A territory that never ceases to amaze and that offers much more than natural beauty. Near the beach Neolithic settlements have been found which testify that Sardinia has been the land inhabited since the primitive ages of humanity. The man from his ancestral birth has always loved Salinas, how can we not understand!
