Defined as the 'pearl of the upper Ionian' Trebisacce is a Calabrian town that boasts a strategic geographical position, which allows visitors to admire the Gulf of Taranto, the Piana di Sibari and Mount Pollino. It is a town that has very ancient, protohistoric origins, and in fact in the locality of Broglio, it was established in an archaeological park thanks to the many findings made. In the park an ancient village has been reconstructed, for example the reproduction of a wooden hut with all the tools of the time can be observed. The door of the Annunziata, in the upper part of the city, was the entrance to the ancient village. Among the valuable religious buildings we remember the Mother Church of San Nicola di Mira, the oldest in the town. A center that offers a suggestive and interesting walk, such as a visit to the Museo dell'Arte Olearia, while continuing towards the coast you can find establishments and accommodation facilities related to summer tourism. The gastronomy does not disappoint, and among the typical products we remember the 'Biondo Tardivo', a type of orange used in many typical sweet and savory recipes. A typical festival of the area is also dedicated to the orange, which celebrates it, being a citrus fruit produced only and only in this locality.
