The splendid Peschici

Where: peschici
(Peschici)
Genre: culture

Peschici is a magnificent town in the province of Foggia, also called the Pearl of the Gargano for its beauty. Of great interest is its historic center with the typical white houses, the ancient artisan shops and the picturesque flowery alleys. From here you can easily reach the Castle of Peschici which houses a permanent exhibition of medieval torture instruments, a somewhat disturbing place but that history buffs must absolutely visit. Very impressive is the archaeological site of the Grottone di Manaccora which was already inhabited since the Bronze Age. The Trabucco di Punta Manaccora deserves a visit as well, which despite the years is kept in excellent condition. Behind it is a small cave where many interesting objects collected during the fishing days are exhibited. Lovers of the sea cannot miss a swim in the fantastic beaches of Peschici, in particular the Zaiana Bay and the Manaccora Beach. Typical products of the area are Olive Oil, Taralli and Crustoli which are Christmas sweets. Not far from here is the Gargano National Park which is an obligatory stop for those who love hiking surrounded by greenery.
