The third Sicilian Carnival, in Acquedolci

We are on the Sicilian coast, in the province of Messina, in Acquedolci. We are here for one of the most exciting parties on the island: the Carnival. Behind this party there is the commitment of the Administration and the City Council; a job I carry out and taken care of in the smallest details. It is the 52nd edition, from 25 February to 1 March and an event that has been carried out over the years that has its roots for more than fifty years. The parade is also attended by the tank crews who from time to time hand down the tradition and who work day and night so that everything is successful. Since 1997 the tankers have wanted to form an association in order to give life to a professional training school, aimed at learning the techniques of making allegorical floats, masks and costumes, and thus favor the development and promotion of the Acquedolcese Carnival, the whose official mask is Doroteo. Acquedolci has acquired an ever greater notoriety for its carnival and the beauty of its floats, to the point that it is considered the third most important carnival in Sicily and attracts tens of thousands of people.
