Anfo is a very small town in Brescia overlooking Lake Idro, a lake of glacial origin in Val Sabbia, formed by the waters of the Chiese river. The stretch of water offers many tourist opportunities for those who love nature walks. The village of Anfo is known for the presence of the Napoleonic fortress, the largest in Italy, dating back to the 15th century. Eight kilometers for a total visit of four hours. It is a military building that was also created for defensive purposes. Walking along the lakefront you reach the entrance to the fortress. Inside there are various military objects and weapons, linked to the first and second world wars, and also to previous conflicts. In addition to the internal part that offers many interesting ideas, the external part is very suggestive because it allows you to observe the adjacent panorama from different points of view, more or less above. During the First World War the fortress was used as a powder magazine, and as evidence of this there is still a dense network of lightning rods, called the Faraday Cage, inserted to prevent explosions.
