Mazzin is a very small Trentino village, in the province of Trento, sitting at the remarkable altitude of 1,395 meters, with just 385 inhabitants. Mazzin is the smallest town in the Val di Fassa, one of the most fascinating valleys of the Dolomites. It is a fairly strategic place as a base for excursions in the area, trekking, and is located along the route of the Marcialonga di Fiemme and Fassa. Mazzin is known as the town of the 'pitores' that is the house decorators who seasonally emigrated to other valleys in the area. Ciasa Costazza and Ciasa Cassan, although undergoing renovations, are an illustrative example. The historic center of the village is basically made up of a few rural buildings that overlook Via Roma and the Rio Udai. Around the village, nature explodes in all its magnificence of colors, smells and variety. The Dolomites road and the cycle path are the two ways to explore so much beauty and go to the hamlets of Campestrin and Fontanazzo, home to interesting mountain churches. Finally, in Mazzin there is the Rhaetian archaeological site of 'Doss dei Pigui' which represents an important prehistoric settlement.
