Posada, the Poetry square, the Castle and Grazia Deledda

Where: posada
(Posada)
Genre: culture   nature   folklore

We are located in Sardinia, in the province of Nuoro, in one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, Posada, on the north west coast of the island. Entering the center of the village you will immediately find the Piazza dei poeti, which owes its name to the extemporaneous poetry competitions and Sardinian songs that were held in the 60s. Overlooking the square there is a postcard view, in Via Amsicora, with stairways and stone walls, a blue wall in the background. The main attraction of the village is certainly the Castello della Fava, from the 12th century, occupied by the Aragonesk in 1324 and later under the control of the Arborea judges. Its name derives from a legend, around 1300 a Saracen fleet besieged and conquered the city for exhaustion and hunger. Their last resources were just a handful of beans. The castle is located on the highest point of Posada. Not far away is a tribute to Grazia Deledda, the first Italian woman to win the Nobel Prize, there are beautiful painted ceramics that remember her with portraits and quotes from her novels.
