Pescasseroli is a small town in Abruzzo, belonging to the province of L'Aquila. It stands at 1167 meters above sea level and has 2,200 inhabitants. Immersed in the heart of the Abruzzo National Park, its strong point is in tourism with a naturalistic background, capable of moving the entire receptive induced. The park offers an impressive variety of fauna and flora, the undisputed stars of which are wolves and bears; deer and chamois are also appreciated. The plant species are even 1,700, beeches, pines and maples are the masters. Obviously there are guided tours, although the paths are well marked and maintained, therefore independent excursions are possible. The center of Pescasseroli is intimate and well cared for, with charming alleys and delightful glimpses. Noteworthy is the Church of the Apostles Peter and Paul, built in the 12th century and then restored several times. Inside there is an interesting wooden Black Madonna. Unfortunately, only a few ruins remain of the medieval Mancino Castle. Pescasseroli is also a renowned ski resort.
