Oltrepò Pavese: Bastida Pancarana

Along the right bank of the river Po, in the area called 'Oltrepò Pavese', and therefore in the city of Pavia, we find the Lombard municipality of Bastida Pancarana. The origin of this small village is very ancient, although it can be documented from the end of the 14th century. The proximity to the river Po has always characterized a danger for several floods, some of which completely destroyed what was the military port. Bastida Pancarana is also a village with an advantageous vegetation, since the numerous floods, now reduced thanks to the embankment, have made the arable land very fertile. Easter Monday is undoubtedly one of the most important events in the community of Bastida Pancarana. To date, the one hundred and sixty-seventh edition is celebrated and it is one of the events in which all the progress made up to the present day is brought to light. During this event you cannot miss livestock fairs, stalls on which typical products of Bastida Pancarana and / or products from fertile lands are exhibited. Bastian Pancarana is therefore a charming and green village, capable of bringing together inhabitants of the municipality itself and tourists from all over the world with just one day.
