The magic of Gaeta

Gaeta is a picturesque town in the province of Latina, on the border between Lazio and Campania. A stop not to be missed is certainly the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta with its beautiful bell tower and its interior in Arab-Norman style. Also worth seeing from the outside is the Castle of Gaeta which is currently a military headquarters and unfortunately cannot be visited from inside. The medieval village is worth looking at even without a precise itinerary, getting lost in the beauty of its ancient streets. To try is a culinary specialty of the town that is the Tiella which is a savory pie seasoned in various ways. Sports enthusiasts can walk up Monte Orlando to visit the Trinity Church and the Mausoleum which is the tomb of Lucio Munazio Planco, a general and politician of ancient Rome. From the top of the mountain you can enjoy a wonderful view of the city. Obviously in Gaeta it is a must to go to its beautiful beach and take a swim in its magnificent sea.
