A liberty town in the heart of Veneto: Recoaro Terme

Where: recoaro-terme
(Recoaro Terme)
Genre: culture   nature

If Nietzsche and Verdi loved to stay there at the Recoaro spa there will be a reason and today we will discover it together by entering the heart of this charming and elegant Venetian town, a stone's throw from the neighboring Trentino and close to the most important cities of the Region, such as Vicenza, Verona, Padua and Venice. Today the baths no longer host authoritative personalities, but have preserved intact that typical retro liberty-style charm that also characterizes the rest of the town's architecture. Recoaro Terme has an important trademark represented by its precious mineral waters, but we cannot fail to mention the peaks of the small Dolomites that dominate the upper Agno Valley, those same peaks that saw Gino Soldà climb, one of the first Italians to having touched Everest. What is striking, in addition to the evident liberty imprint of the houses, is the characteristic landscape morphology of the city, almost as if to be a natural extension of the mountains behind that stretch to the bottom of the spectacular Conca di Smeraldo (better known as Val d'Agno ) from the eloquent title. Legend has it that here Nietzsche wrote one of his masterpieces, Thus Spoke Zarathustra, letting himself be inspired by the soothing green of the valley. Whether you are writers, composers, or just travelers, let yourself be lulled by the sweet green and treat yourself to a timeless break in this small corner of Veneto.
