On the extreme northeastern tip of Sicily, today we go to the discovery of Messina. After crossing the Strait and diving into these wonderfully crystalline waters, we go to admire the first of the attractions of this city, the Lighthouse, dating back to the nineteenth century with black and white stripes. To the side of the Cathedral, as well as Protometropolitan of Santa Maria Assunta, mother church and fulcrum of the historic center of Messina, we can admire the Statue of the Immaculate Conception, a white marble sculpture by Ignazio Buceti from Messina, placed on a high base in the square 'Immacolata di Marble'. We still focus on the Fountain of Neptune and that of Orion, the two most significant in the city. We continue to discover the Shrine of Christ the King, which has the Campagna of Christ the King, the third largest in Italy, about 13 tons. Walking along via Cesare Battisti we find ourselves in front of the Church of the Santissima Annunziata dei Catalani, dating back to the 12th century and founded on the ruins of the ancient temple of Neptune. We conclude our visit by returning to the Cathedral and dwelling on the Astronomical Clock, the largest and most complex in the world.
