The Way of Sant'Agostino in Brianza

(Brianza)
Genre: culture

Brianza is a splendid territory where history, traditions and nature merge. Here, lovers of spirituality can also undertake the Way of St. Augustine, a 350-kilometer path in which around thirty sanctuaries can be visited. An obligatory destination for pilgrims who undertake this journey is certainly the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Neve which is located near Pusiano. To get to the church you have to go up a cobbled path on Monte Cornizzolo. Inside the building there is a splendid effigy of the Virgin Mary. Another sanctuary that deserves a visit is that of the Madonna di San Calogero in Caslino d'Erba. This interesting church dates back to 1608 and built in stone. Also not to be missed in this pilgrimage is the Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Ozio near which there is a park with a beautiful bronze statue of Pope John Paul II inside. Also noteworthy is the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Bosco which can be reached by climbing a staircase of 349 steps. Almost on top of it is a splendid statue of Pope John XXIII. Finally, you cannot miss a visit to the Church of San Pietro in Ciel d'Oro in Pavia where the remains of Sant'Agostino are found inside.
