Where: bernalda
(Bernalda)
Genre: culture   nature   fun

We are located in Basilicata, near Matera, in the blue flag municipality since 2018, we are in Bernalda, a small town that not only has crystal clear sea and beautiful beaches. Edited 127 meters above sea level, bordering Taranto, it has origins that date back to ancient Greece, in fact the historic center is very rich in art and culture. We also find many Christian religious buildings, such as the Mother Church of 1530, very special because inside there are two cemeteries. The Church of the Carmine and the Church of the convent of Sant'Antonio da Padova, with an important nineteenth-century crucifix inside, also deserve to be admired. Its flagship is the Castle, from the Norman era of the eleventh century and restored by the Aragonese, is perched and surrounded by nature, a double spectacle for its visitors. The noble palaces are also noteworthy, such as Palazzo Fischietti, Palazzo Lacava, Appio and Margherita. It also boasts a protected area, the Metaponto Nature Reserve, between the Bradano and Basento rivers, home to specimens of the Caretta Caretta sea turtle.
