One of the most magical castles in the Val di Non, Castel Belasi in Campodenno

Where: campodenno
(Campodenno)
Genre: culture   folklore   useful information

Today we are in Campodenno, in the province of Trento. Between the villa of Dercolo and Segonzone. Above a summit, we go to the discovery of Castel Belasi, not exactly one of the best known in Val di Non, but certainly destined to become one. The Khuen family lived in the castle from the mid-1300s to the mid-1900s. After the count's death, the castle fell into decay. Before it became just a large ruin, in 2000 the municipality of Campodenno bought the castle and started the restoration work. The restoration works are still visible today during the visit. The castle is a complex enclosed in a wall with two main blocks, a chapel and a tower. Only two of the four original walls remain on the walls. The tower is 25 meters high and once at the top we can admire the Sporo-Rovina Castle, the Thun Castle and the Belfort Castle. The block used as a dwelling was the one leaning against the tower while in the southern part we can admire the old barns and stables. The site of the castle has an area of about 8 thousand square meters and the castle occupies 2200, from which you can admire breathtaking views.
