Sirmione, Lake Garda

Sirmione is certainly one of the most beautiful villages on Lake Garda, with its Castle on the water, unique in the world. An extraordinary village, perched on a thin strip of land surrounded almost entirely by the water of the lake. Its historic center is located on a narrow, elegant and colorful peninsula, with small beaches overlooking Lake Garda, where you can relax in the renowned spa center. The Scaligero Castle, one of the most preserved lakeside fortifications in Italy, with its fortifications, its bridge that takes us to the historic center. It has high crenellated towers, a keep and mighty walls. Open every day and can be visited inside, absolutely not to be missed. The historic center is beyond the castle and offers elegant alleys full of shops, craft shops as well as good characteristic food. Sirmione is the pearl of Garda and it is no coincidence that between 1952 and 1958 Maria Callas spent her holidays here, in Villa Meneghini, which you can admire from the outside. Another place of extraordinary charm are the Baths of Catullus, the best preserved Roman domus in all of Italy, on the tip of the peninsula.
