Mondovì is a town in Piedmont, province of Cuneo, with 22,000 inhabitants. Distinguished in two parts, below Breo, modern; St. Peter's Square deserves a visit with the Church of Saints Peter and Paul from 1489 with a beautiful facade, surmounted by the mask of the Moor, and the bell tower as well. This part of the city is connected to the Piazza district, at the top, by a modern funicular. The Piazza district has a medieval layout with Baroque monuments. The heart is represented by Piazza Maggiore with arcades, Palazzo dei governatori or coats of arms, city palace and especially the Church of the Mission of 167 with a spectacular baroque interior. Gothic, on the other hand, is Palazzo dei Bressani. The cathedral is dedicated to San Donato, from 1739, boasts a very sumptuous interior in Baroque style. Do not miss the civic tower, equipped with a precious clock and the neighboring garden of the belvedere. The park of time is also pleasant, rich in particular sundials and instruments for measuring the passage of time. Last curiosity: the great poet Giosuè Carducci dedicates a poem to Mondovì.
