Northern Italy offers wonderful pearls to visit, whether for a short weekend or for longer periods, among these places there is certainly the area of Lake Iseo and Monte Isola. Monte Isola is located right in the center of Lake Iseo and has less than 2000 inhabitants, easily reachable by small boats, it is one of the highest lake islands in Europe with its 600 meters and contains some small jewels to visit. But in addition to its height, Monte Isola is famous beyond the Italian borders for its production of nets for sports and fishing. Fishing is in fact one of the most ancient traditions of the place and is accompanied by that which will immediately catch the eye of the visitor to spread out on wooden arches to dry the catch in the sun. As for its beauties to visit, in the hamlet of Peschiera Maraglio we find the church dedicated to San Michele dating back to the seventeenth century, a place of worship for the inhabitants of the place, which can be visited inside. And on top of the mountain stands another religious building, the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Ceriola, built in the thirteenth century on the remains of an ancient chapel, is now visited by all the tourists of the island and remains one of the most famous buildings of Monte Isola .
