Grumello del Monte, Bergamo

Siamk in the Bergamo hinterland, in the small town of Grumello del Monte, surrounded by greenery and crop fields that draw landscapes to admire. It was founded in 1319, we have testimony of it in the will of Guglielmo Longo. One of the healthiest areas of the Bergamo area, its plains are covered with wheat and mulberry trees and up to the 19th century all covered with vines. Its hills where the village is gently stretched gives good wine. To admire it, it is advisable to stop on the Rillo bridge. Do not miss the Castle of Grumello, dating back to the thirteenth century, is today one of the historic cellars of Bergamo. It hosts the winery in the medieval cellars, produces wines of the highest quality from grapes grown on Colle Calvario. The castle is open for visits and tastings, but there are also exhibitions and events. It still preserves the mighty tower and the walls. Also of interest is the historic core, characterized by buildings in local stone, decorated with atriums and columns in Sarnico stone, such as Palazzo Micheli and Casa Signoroni from the 1600s.
