The village of Atzara, in the heart of Sardinia

Atzara is a small village in the center of Sardinia and is considered an ideal destination for all travelers looking for peace and tranquility away from the big tourist centers. In 2019 it won the title of Borgo dei Borghi assigned by the homonymous broadcast of Rai 3 which annually awards the most beautiful town in Italy. The town has about 1000 inhabitants and has medieval origins. Testimony of this is the beautiful Church of San Giorgio while in the historic center there are old houses and stately buildings built in granite. Of great value are the historic vineyards of the surrounding countryside which can be easily reached via the many rural roads. The flagship of Atzara are the wineries that also offer guided tours and where you can taste the local wine. An obligatory stop is also the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art where you can find numerous works by Italian and international artists.
