We are in the heart of the Dolomites, in Fiè allo Sciliar, a spectacular village and area of the oldest natural park among the parks established in South Tyrol, the Sciliar-Cantinaccio natural park. We are at 870 meters above sea level at the foot of the town, where a circular path winds its way through both on foot and by bike. Walking we arrive in front of the symbol of the town: the bell tower of the Church of Santa Maria Assunta. Built at the end of the 11th century, it has different styles: the Romanesque building, later remodeled in the late-Gothic style, the side altars and the paintings of the vault in the neo-Gothic style and the bell tower in the Baroque style. Entering the historic center we arrive in a delightful square with a fountain, inside which stands the Parish Church. In the same square we can only take a short break, taking a seat on the peculiar colored chairs, to admire the majesty of the massif. We continue towards the Sciliar plateau, where we go to visit the Castle of Presule, a splendid example of Gothic art, and its construction dates back to the time of Maximilian I of Habsburg in 1517, as written above the entrance portal. We conclude our visit by going to taste some of the delicacies of the area.
