Welcome to the Museum of the Mountain People

We are located in Palazzuolo sul Senio, a characteristic town located on the northern border of Tuscany, a few kilometers from the border with Emilia Romagna, also defined as Romagna-Tuscany. The economy of the territory, until the first half of the last century, was based on the work carried out by 350 farms. The museum is located in 'Palazzo dei Capitani' and collects objects of common use in the countryside and dating back to the early part of the 20th century. It all began in the 70s, when Antonio Poli, creator of the project, began a collection from the farmers of the area, of all objects no longer used, both in common use and specific equipment engaged in agricultural activities, livestock breeding, cellar. , mill, blacksmith, carpenter, spinning. The museum is divided into 8 rooms, one of which is for agriculture, one dedicated to the mill with a skilful reconstruction of the water mill. The museum has been hosting for years, in the summer months, ever new temporary exhibitions to keep the interest of visitors active.
