Cella san vito: an immersion in nature

Where: celle-di-san-vito
(celle san vito)
Genre: events    culture   nature   folklore

Despite being the least populated village in Puglia, anyone visiting this beauty will go to the discovery of a completely unexpected Puglia; different from the sea of Salento or from the romantic cathedrals of the land of Bari, together with Faeto, it constitutes the 'Daunia arpitana', the only Franco-Provençal linguistic island in Puglia. We are talking about Celle di San Vito. The origins of the center of this charming village date back to the summer residence of the Benedictine monks of the convent of San Nicola. But the peculiarity of this village is its conformation: a set of narrow alleys that can only be traveled on foot. And it is precisely while walking that you can see the names of the streets in the Provencal language. A perfect place to admire the beauties of nature: in fact, you pass the wide view of the mountains, the expanse of the Tavoliere up to the massive Mole del Gargano. There is no shortage of parties that are organized on the occasion of Good Friday and the Via Crucis, where a very suggestive evening procession runs through all the streets of the town.
