In the Matese National Park, on the border of Campania, there is a small corner of Paradise: the Cypress forest of Fontegreca. Far from the chaos of the city and from the tourist routes, we find ourselves in front of an enchanted place. In fact, the forest is crossed by the Sava river, which, falling directly from the mountain, forms a multitude of pools and waterfalls of crystalline water from which, for the bravest, it is possible to dive and immerse themselves. But the Sava is not only a proponent of this wonderful corner, but also crosses Fontegreca, the village that rises on the slopes of Mount La Rocca, for five kilometers. Full of historic houses dating back to 1700, the historic center of the village offers breathtaking views. Also not to be missed is the church of the Madonna Dei Cipressi, which preserves pretty Vietri majolica and numerous archaeological finds inside its basement. In short, a truly magical place to spend a few days in complete relaxation and return to the origins of Adam and Eve.
