Until 2013, Figline and Incisa Valdarno were two distinct municipalities of the metropolitan city of Florence, now unified. Among the religious sites not to be missed is the collegiate church of Santa Maria built in 1257 which houses a table by the Master of Figline, or the Madonna enthroned with the child between St. Louis of Toulouse and St. Elizabeth of Hungary. While in another panel you can admire the patron saint of Figline, San Romolo, who carries the city in his hand, portrayed just as it was in the years of construction. Next to the collegiate church you can visit a Museum of Sacred Art. Other places of interest are the Guelph Tower, and the female Monastery of the Holy Cross of the Augustinians. Incisa, on the other hand, is famous for being the adopted town of Francesco Petrarca, born in nearby Arezzo. In the house of the Petrarchs to date there are conferences and other events that interest Incisa and Figline. Among the events we can remember the Palio di San Rocco with tournaments and competitions of different nature, and Autumnia, an event created to promote agriculture and typical local products.
