(Grottammare )
Genre: culture   nature

Grottammare, in the province of Ascoli Piceno, is a maritime village that contains art, culture, sacredness and beaches overlooking the Adriatic. One of the most beautiful villages in Italy, it boasts 5 km of seafront, the most visited in the Marche. Entering the heart of the city, in Piazza Peretti you can admire the panorama from the frame of a loggia, the Teatro dell'Arancio and the church of San Giovanni Battista, reachable by characteristic alleys lined with typical shops and cafes. Grottammare has very ancient origins, in fact traces of a Picenian necropolis have been found. The typical families, made of bricks and rocks line the entire coast and give us architectural beauties typical of mountain villages but overlooking the sea. Absolutely not to be missed is the Torrione della Battaglia, an ancient fortification dating back to the 16th century, which houses the museum of the artist Pericle Fazzini. A small pearl to be discovered by walking through the characteristic alleys, of greenery, of panoramic points.
