Halfway between Merano and the Resia Pass, in the province of Bolzano, lies the small village of Silandro, one of the main destinations in the Val Venosta. Rich in meadows, pastures and where the cultivation of apples is widespread, to which the name of Val Venosta has always been associated. It is located in the center of the valley, its landscape full of cultivated fields is interspersed with small channels that carry water from the glaciers to the valley floor. Silandro offers increasingly numerous tourists the possibility of long walks with its 80 kilometers of itineraries, including excursions within the Stelvio National Park, the largest National Park in Italy that extends over its two regions: Lombardy and Trentino Alto Adige. Famous is the 'Walk of the sun' which gives a panoramic view over the whole territory: churches, castles and convents. A stop not to be missed is the center of Avimundus which hosts a permanent exhibition on the world of birds. For sports lovers, the town offers a dedicated area where you can practice football, tennis and free climbing. Here culture is also important, there are libraries, theaters and many events are organized.
