Cellino Attanasio is a splendid village located in the province of Teramo, in Abruzzo. The historic center is rich in an artistic and cultural heritage, still retains the typical medieval layout with narrow streets, stairways, squares and views, and part of the walls is still present. The symbols of the town are many both religious and civil; among the religious ones we find the Parish Church of Santa Maria La Nova which is the representative building of the town. The portal was built around 1400 by Matteo De Caprio and inside there are two wooden altars, a monument dedicated to Giovanni Battista Acquaviva and a wonderful 1700 pipe organ by the D'Onofrio brothers. Other religious structures are the former church of Santo Spirito and the church of San Francesco which is part of an ancient convent whose cloister is still preserved. Located a short distance from the original access gates of the town we find two ancient fountains, namely the fifteenth-century source Cisterna and the eighteenth-century source Luccio.
