Campo Ligure, wonder of the villages

Campo Ligure is a small village of 2858 inhabitants in Liguria, more precisely in the province of Genoa. The territory is separated from the coast thanks to the presence of the Ligurian Apennines, which isolates it to the point of making its climate comparable to that typical of the Apennine-Po valley: in fact, temperatures equal to -18 degrees have been reached and it is not uncommon for it snows even in spring months, such as March and April. Summer hardly sees temperatures higher than thirty degrees, thanks to the mountain breeze that cools the environment during the night. Inside the center of Campo Ligure, there are several religious architectures, in particular in the video there is a close-up of the parish church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, which preserves the rich decoration by De Lorenzi and the canvases and frescoes by Gainotti. This makes this church not only a place of worship, but also an artistic one, as it preserves works of inestimable value. Another particularly important monument is the Spinola Castle, also known as the Campo Ligure Castle, born as a defensive building. It was inhabited by the Spinola feudal family who chose it as a temporary residence to exercise their power and control over the whole valley. Its construction can be dated to the Middle Ages, but there is no certainty about it, as its structure gives space to different building phases.
