Today we are in Trebisacce, in the province of Cosenza, for the Feast of Saint Roch of Montpellier, universally known as Saint Roch, a French pilgrim and thaumaturge, Saint most evoked in the Middle Ages, today elected by the seafarers as patron saint, on the 16th of August. The procession of the Saint starts from the Mother Church of San Nicola di Mira, then passes along the seafront, punctuated by hundreds of stalls and stalls, to continue to the sea. The Saint, in fact, is taken by boat to bless the sea and its people. The party, after the celebration of the Holy Mass, ends with the wonderful fireworks display of the Trebisacce Pyrotechnics. Another well-known event of citation is the feast of the late Biondo. In fact, Trebisacce dedicates two days to the celebration of its most characteristic excellence, the late Biondo orange, with its incredible organoleptic properties. Tradition wants to start the celebrations inside the Daedalus of the Trebisacce Gardens, where the Biondo is born and ends inside the Vecchio Mulino where a banquet based on the protagonist of the party is set up.
