Where: vanzago
(Bosco di Vanzago)
Genre: nature

In the city of Vanzago, twenty-three kilometers from the Milan cathedral, there is a real oasis: the WWF Vanzago Regional Forest Reserve. With the aim of safeguarding, conserving, protecting and studying flora and fauna, it is now part of the Natura 2000 Network, the largest European area of environmental protection and conservation. Rich in different environments, it is a totally heavenly reserve, where it is possible to visit from the oak forest to the autrophic lakes, which are useful for the protection of migrating animal species. Among the paths, the woods and many other verses it is possible to see a structure, used for educational purposes for schools on guided tours; from there it is in fact possible to better admire the surrounding flora. But the most important structure inside the Vanzago wood is the Rescue Center for Wild Animals. Hosting around three thousand five hundred animals each year, it aims to treat them and set them free. The Vanzago wood is therefore one of the places that must undoubtedly be visited, but which will be especially appreciated by nature and animal lovers.
