The magical Villasimius

Villasimìus is an Italian town of 3 680 inhabitants in the province of Southern Sardinia, very popular as a tourist resort. The territory of Villasimius extends from the Sette Fratelli mountain range to the shores of the Capo Carbonara promontory. Although the mountainous area is breathtakingly beautiful, the coast, about 50 kilometers long, is the main attraction. The beaches of Campulongu, Simius and Porto Giunco are those most appreciated by visitors, thanks to the fine white sand and a blue and shimmering sea. Another very popular beach is the Spiaggia del Riso, so called because of the composition of its sand, formed by tiny pebbles smoothed by the sea that resemble grains of rice, a unique and particular scenario that makes it famous all over the world. Villasimius has been a protected marine area since 1998. The area also offers the possibility of making countless archaeological and naturalistic excursions.
