Naples in one day

Where: napoli
(Napoli)
Genre: useful information

Naples is one of the 'capitals' of Southern Italy, a city so suggestive that it inspired the saying 'See Naples and then die'. Although it seems very difficult to concentrate the visit in just one day, it is not an impossible task. The ideal for those who want to visit Naples in a very short time and on foot, is to stay overnight in a very central area; in this regard, Piazza Bellini and surrounding areas seem ideal. From Piazza Bellini it will be easy to reach the main artery, Via Toledo, and Piazza del Plebiscito. Surely one of the most interesting destinations in Naples are the characteristic Spanish Quarters, in the heart of the historic center, easily reachable from via Toledo. San Gregorio Armeno is an unmissable stop for every visitor to the Neapolitan city: it is the 'via dei presepi', full of craft shops dedicated to the creation of nativity scenes and statuettes; the ideal is to visit this area early in the morning to avoid too much confusion. Leaving Via San Gregorio Armeno towards Via dei Tribunali, you can see the Basilica of San Paolo Maggiore, from which you can start a tour of underground Naples. A walk along the beautiful Neapolitan seafront is also not to be missed. Obviously, before concluding the tour, a stop in a pizzeria is a must!
