We are in Monferrato, more precisely we are about to discover its most secret and evocative places. Monferrato is a historic region of Piedmont, made up of rolling hills and waterways. Between the provinces of Alessandria and Asti, it is part of the UNESCO world heritage. We start from Alessandria, where we take the road in the countryside among the vineyards that accompany us towards Mombaruzzo. Where we find the giant bench, the first, from which to enjoy a breathtaking view. Depending on the seasons, the colors of Monferrato change, a territory of 300,000 hectares of nature and waterways. We continue towards Nizza Monferrato, where we can admire the church of the Madonna della Neve, on the top of a hill to the west. Continuing towards Canelli, at the ancient Torre dei Contini, in the hamlet of Santa Libera, the tower can be visited freely and reached via a signposted pedestrian path. For wine lovers, we have its noblest, Barbera d'Asti and Dolcetto d'Acqui. For refined palates we find truffles, mushrooms and hazelnuts.
