We are located in Campania, in the province of Avellino, in Cervinara, a small town that extends between the slopes of the Partenio and Ciglio massif and in the Caudina valley. Cervinara is a splendid village, rich in religious traditions. The territory is dotted with sanctuaries, in fact, which offer religious tourist routes. The city has an ancient history, where the battle between Samnites and Romans took place. The church is located in the upper part of the town, in the historic center, where the marquis's palace appears on the grand staircase. The abbey of San Gennaro is the oldest in the place, influential and important in the life of the community since its construction. It became a sanctuary for the cult of the Virgin of Sorrows. Rich in precious prices, dating back to 1700. On the day of the patron saint, there is an important and expected event, the visit of the archbishop. Many events for the less fortunate. Of note, the statue of the Madonna given to the city by Pope Benedict XIII. The historical re-enactment that takes place on Easter day is evocative.
