The wonder of Abruzzo

Where: vasto
(Vasto)
Genre: culture   nature   useful information

Vasto, located on the Trabocchi coast in southern Abruzzo, is considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Municipality of the province of Chieti, many tourists visit it every year, choosing it as a destination for summer holidays. But Vasto is not just the sea. The city has a long tradition and culture, and has been influenced by many kingdoms that have succeeded each other throughout history. Vasto is also a territory, archeology and gastronomy, as evidenced by the attached video, as well as unforgettable sea, beaches and natural reserves. About 10 kilometers north of Vasto is Punta Aderci, a marine nature reserve with steep cliffs, cliffs and beaches that smell of Mediterranean cars; perhaps it is a symbol of the coast. Then there are the vestiges of the flourishing medieval past and the Roman era, still visible in the numerous Augustan villas. In addition to this, it is necessary to point out the presence of prestigious monuments that perfectly reflect the Renaissance period: the Avalos Palace and the Caldoresco Castle (unfortunately closed to the public). Vasto, on the whole, offers glimpses and emotions belonging to a territory where the sea, nature and history blend intensely, giving rise to wonder.
