Cherasco is a city rich in history, art and culture located in the Langhe area. It has about 9 thousand inhabitants but it is a very extensive and vast territory, it is a small big city. The city was founded in the autumn of 1243 as a fortress for the city of Alba, has a long history of about 800 years and is therefore rich in historic buildings, museums and the important Sanctuary of the Madonna del Popolo. Numerous medieval castles surrounded by greenery and numerous bastions that have been erected and demolished several times over the course of history. The historic center is therefore rich in history. Rich also from a cultural point of view, in fact in Cherasco every weekend there are very interesting events. One of the best known and most repeated is 'Cherasco History' which is now also known internationally. Schools are also involved in this event and at the end of the event an international writer is awarded. Recently Cherasco is not only recognized for its culture but also from the food and wine point of view as the production and export of baci, that is the chocolates of Cherasco. In addition, the culinary tradition of the frog has been rediscovered. Although very particular as a dish, for years it has been the main protagonist of culinary traditions. For this reason, the 'Cherasco snail' event usually takes place in September, also now internationally recognized.
