Campochiaro, between nature, culture and tradition

Where: campochiaro
(Campochiaro)
Genre: culture   nature   folklore

Campochiaro is a splendid medieval village located in the province of Campobasso, in Molise. The tour that is proposed to us in the video starts from the WWF Guardiregia-Campochiaro Imola oasis, which is the second largest in Italy and is characterized by the Canyon of the Quirino stream, the San Nicola waterfall with a jump of about 100 meters, from the caves of Pozzo della Neve and Cul di Bove which are among the deepest in Europe. Then we reach the village and our tour begins to discover the wonders of this place. The town is located at the foot of the Matese and its main feature is certainly the medieval Angevin Tower, which dominates the whole valley. To testify the medieval past of the town, there are also the remains of the walls and towers, now incorporated into successive houses. Among the main festivals of the town, there are first and foremost the patron saint of San Marco, which is celebrated on April 25, then the feast of the Madonnella and finally we cannot fail to mention the famous oregano festival.
