Pomaria: the apple festival

Where: cles
(Cles)
Genre: events    culture   nature   wine and food   fun   folklore   useful information

Today we are in Val di Non, in particular in CLes, to attend the apple harvest festival. In collaboration with the Apt Val di Non, Melinda and local bodies and institutions, every second weekend of October, this extraordinary and unique event comes to life to celebrate the apple, not only as a fruit itself, but also and above all as the protagonist of traditions and flavors that are rediscovered. Pomaria, in fact, derives from the Latin 'pomarium', which literally means 'orchard'; furthermore the Goddess and protector of the orchards is Pomona. So what better name than Pomaria, enhancing the strong bond with the land but also with culture. For these two long days it is possible to pick apples directly from the trees, get to know and taste the different culinary varieties proposed, undertake, especially for the little ones, educational workshops and, for adults, tasting tours. You will also be able to learn how to cook the famous Strudel. In addition to apples, the festival offers different activities and stands linked to the territory to make known to all the ancient crafts and traditions of this wonderful territory.
