The Museum of Contemporary Art of Villapiana and outdoors

Villapiana is a village on the high Ionian coast of Cosenza known for its beauty, but which never ceases to try to amaze its visitors with new initiatives. For example, it has tried to feed its cultural offer by also addressing contemporary art and creating a real open-air museum. Some young artists have been called to illustrate the soul and spirit of Villapiana, also retracing its historical traces, since its birth as a Greek colony. The works, sculptures, paintings and photographs, went to populate the streets of the village, accompanying the residents and also the tourists who stroll. Everything is part of the MAVI project, wanted by the municipality but carried out above all by the Villapiana Borgoattiva Association. Year after year the open-air museum is increased by new works that always have the purpose of intriguing the viewer, and at the same time to manifest the identity of the village as it can also be experienced by those who do not belong to this village.
