The open-air museum of LedroLandArt

In Pur, near Lake Ledro, there is a unique open-air museum called LedroLandArt. The museum was inaugurated in 2012 by the will of the municipal administration in order to expand the tourist offer of the place with a cultural proposal. It is in fact an exhibition of land art works, made with perishable and eco-sustainable materials such as wood, stone and iron. Each work fits perfectly into the surrounding nature, and every year new pieces are added to the collection, carefully selected by a special jury. The evaluation takes into account the concept of the work, that is what the artist wants to communicate to the public, but also its biodegradability. Another important aspect of LedroLandArt is that it is accessible to everyone, adults and children, and that it can be entered on foot, by bike or in a wheelchair. The guardians of the museum are the cows, which can graze freely, also helping to keep the surrounding vegetation in order.
