Fly fishing in Val Passiria

(Val Passiria)
Genre: fun

One of the many activities that can be practiced in Val Passiria is sport fishing. The ideal place for the no kill bait, that is the one that requires the fish to be put back into the water after being caught, is along the waters of the Passirio stream which gives its name to the valley. This river originates at 2491 meters above sea level, and then winds for 42 kilometers until it flows into the Adige river, near Merano. The waters of this stream are ideal for trout of various species, especially for the marble trout which is typical of this area. The highly oxygenated water of the highest quality ensures that the fish are healthy; a specimen of marble trout can weigh up to 20 kilograms. There are many who come to fly fishing along the stream, thanks to daily permits. Fly fishing focuses above all on recovery methods, so I know it also goes well with the no kill mode. The favorite place for fishermen is Saltusio, which is a fraction of San Martino.
