Punta delle Castella, much better known as Le castella, is a small fishing village in the municipality of Isola Capo Rizzuto. It is mainly known for its Aragonese castle, and for the things of fine sand and turquoise sea. Flora and fauna of the place are protected by a protected natural area, the largest in Italy, and the landscape becomes very suggestive thanks to the Greek-Roman archaeological remains located on the cliffs. The castle is the pride of the village. Its origin is Greek, and it is located on the sea, connected to the mainland thanks to a natural walkway. A very suggestive scenario that makes the place a great tourist attraction. Born as a military outpost, today it is also a perfect location for events and weddings. The whole village of Le Castella is scattered with architectures that recall its past as a military zone. Watchtowers, remains of city walls and various sacred architectures testify how the castle was protected by land. Along the whole east side of the tip of Le Castella there are the cliffs: Punta Cannone and sheep bath. There are several beaches: the Saraceno beach and the Santa Domenica beach. Offshore it is also possible to go diving.
