From the Rocca it is also possible to admire a wonderful panorama of the whole lake. The town is home to the Lagoni di Mercurago natural park, a UNESCO heritage site. It is also rich in beaches, and is very active from the point of view of leisure and entertainment. It can therefore be visited not only in summer but also in winter. The mother church is the Collegiate Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, commissioned by Cardinal Federico Borromeo for his cousin Carlo. Inside there are six prestigious paintings by Morazzone. Another important place of worship, the Church of the Holy Martyrs Graziano, Felino, Fedele and Carpoforo. Typical products of Arona's gastronomy are cheeses, in particular bettelmat, gorgonzola and toma.
