Trekking to Pilone San Pancrazio.

Where: balme
(Alpe Arbosetta.)
Genre: nature   fun

From an altitude of 1450 m asl the path begins which in 45 minutes leads to the panoramic promontory of the Pilone di San Pancrazio. The route begins in the woods and the first section is steep, with steps of earth, in the shade of fir and larch trees. Crossing the coast, you reach a plateau that borders the wood and overlooks the first meadows of the mountain pastures. Here you will find directions for Comba Giasset. The lawn grass is covered with spring flowers. Clusters of wild alleys or scattered by fields cultivated for forage, color the weeds and oats with purple and red. Old stone and dilapidated huts still tell the story of the mountain pasture and the bright green of the meadow merges with the blue sky on the horizon. Among the trees, the stone construction of the Pilone marks the arrival point at 1740 m. From here you can admire the Lanzo Valley and the peaks of the Chiavesso mountains, Punta Golai and the basins of the green lakes. The trail is not mowed and protective ankle boots or trekking poles are required.
