(Riserva naturale dello Zingaro)
Genre: nature   useful information

Established in 1981, the Zingaro Nature Reserve is a protected natural area that winds through the municipalities of Castellammare del Golfo and San Vito Lo Capo, in the province of Trapani. The reserve crosses the Costa dello Zingaro, one of the few stretches of the island not occupied by the road. Visiting the Reserve costs only 5 euros, and the route to follow is indicated at the ticket office. There are three possible paths: the coastal path, the most popular main one, the mid-coast path, the most panoramic one, and the high path, more physically demanding. Recommended clothes and especially suitable footwear, a hat for the sun and lots of water. Among the most evocative places of the reserve is the Grotta dell'Uzzo, important from an archaeological point of view for the discovery of several finds that testify to the presence of man. In addition to the beauties of nature, inside there are the Naturalistic Museum, the Museum of Marine Activities, the Museum of Peasant Civilization, the Museum of Manna, the Environmental Education Center, two equipped areas and ancient rural buildings used as shelters, where you want you can stay overnight.
