Trekking to Monte Miletto

(Campitello Matese, Lago Matese.)
Genre: nature   fun

The trek follows the path that from Campitello Matese, at an altitude of 1450 m, reaches the summit of Monte Miletto at an altitude of 2050 m. Keeping in mind that the climb from the Colle del Caprio Refuge is steep, you can shorten this section with the chairlift. Within the Matese regional park, the area offers several alternatives. If the mountain currents envelop us in the high altitude mist, you can postpone the ascent and dedicate yourself to travel the valley on horseback. In the vicinity of Roccamandolfi, moreover, there is the promenade that runs along the stream, to reach the Tibetan bridge and the waterfall. If the weather continues to be unfavorable and still forces us downstream, we can stop along the lake, where at sunset the surrounding mountain ridges are outlined against the light. The following morning from the Refuge and on a beautiful sunny day you reach the summit where the view extends from the valley of the Middle Volturno to the Trebulani mountains, from Naples to the Maiella, up to the mountains of Irpinia and the Molise Apennines. Furthermore, Campitello Matese is a well-known ski resort well structured in all seasons of hotels and restaurants.
