Children outdoors to learn in the Scanzorosciate Nature Room

Where: scanzorosciate
(Scanzorosciate)
Genre: nature

An important initiative wanted by the WWF was inaugurated in Scanzorosciate, which took shape for the first time in Italy in this municipality. In fact, the first Nature Classroom was inaugurated in Scanzorosciate in the garden of the Giovanni Pascoli primary school. The Nature Room expands to 80 square meters and includes different realities, which are used to make children learn some mechanisms of the natural world through a direct approach. Thus a pond was set up, a garden designed to attract butterflies, a nest for solitary bees and even a bat box for bats. All of these are micro habitats that young students will be able to use to see plants, animals and birds that they would otherwise have only indirect knowledge of. 1500 students from the Comprehensive Institute will be able to use the classroom. The intent is to exploit other open spaces that belong to schools, so as to be able to do outdoor lessons that allow young people to develop a sense of respect and love for nature.
