Tortolì: the spectacle of the granite beaches of the Ogliastra coast

Where: tortoli
(Tortolì)
Genre: nature   fun

Tortolì is a town in the province of Nuoro, known for the natural attractions of the coast that attract thousands of tourists every year. The first settlements date back to the Neolithic period and there are over 200 monuments of the Nuragic age in Tortolì and in the surrounding area. The area is extremely rich from a tourist point of view and the beaches are characterized by fine white sand, crystal clear sea, rocks and Mediterranean scrub. Among the most famous beaches we remember: - Lido di Orrì, which is the continuation of the coast of San Gemiliano, is made up of coves of very fine sand alternating with gray granite rocks; - cala Ginepro, a few steps from Orrì, characterized by a shallow seabed that makes it perfect for children and ideal for snorkeling. It is so called for the juniper shrubs that run through it; - the Golfetto, is adjacent to Cala Ginepro, so much so that they are often considered as the only beach. The same characteristics remain for the seabed, while numerous are the granite rocks by now eroded that have assumed rounded and sinuous shapes; - Foxilioni, is one of the largest beaches, sheltered from the winds and on average frequented even in the peak summer periods.
