Things to do in Italy > Villasimius - Costa Rei

Not just the sea.

Where: muravera
(Su Braccu)
Genre: culture

If you are on vacation on the splendid coast of the Costa Rei and you want to explore a tale of the second millennium BC, take the path that, clean, from Muravera in twenty minutes leads to the nuragic site Su Braccu. Between the mouth of the Flumendosa river and the mouth of the Rio Picocca a protective wall was erected in defense of the central tower. All the constructions, partially visible, are made up of rows of granite boulders, collected on site, poorly worked and shod with smaller stone wedges. The walls are not identifiable in the walk, while the inhabited center is better seen. This encloses a complex structure of five buildings and a central tower, characteristic of other Nuragic sites, where many remains of melting of mineral rocks can be seen. The site is located at 89 m asl and offers a viewpoint over the coast. The Nuragic civilization inhabited Sardinia until the second century AD. C. and on the island about seven thousand buildings dedicated to the religious, noble or civil sphere are visible.
